Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral fibre, banned from use in most products. Exposure occurs when materials are disturbed, leading to diseases like mesothelioma. Silica is a common mineral found in materials like concrete, stone, and brick. Exposure occurs when these materials are cut, ground, or drilled, creating Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS) dust, which can lead to diseases like silicosis.
