Telehandler Operator under 3 ton

This Verification of Competency (VOC) assesses an operator's ability to safely conduct telescopic materials handler (telehandler) operations using a non-slewing telehandler with a rated capacity of 3 tonnes or less, fitted with materials-handling attachments such as forks, a bucket or a grab. The VOC does not replace evidence of training for the operator but is intended to maintain compliance with the WHS and OHS Regulations by ensuring operators remain suitably and adequately trained within the refresher periods of their certifications. Assessment is conducted by a qualified assessor and combines a knowledge assessment (written and/or verbal questioning) with direct observation of the operator performing the task on the relevant telehandler and attachment against a practical assessment checklist. VOCs are recommended every 12 months to verify ongoing currency; operation of a telehandler up to 3 tonnes is non-licensed with refresher training recommended every 3 to 5 years.   What to provide: · You will be required to provide the telehandler (rated capacity 3 tonnes or less) and the attachment(s) to be assessed for operation on the site that will need to be inspected prior to use by the assessor to ensure compliance. · A suitable room or space for the theory presentation and assessment · A site-suitable space to conduct the practical observation of operators using the telehandler in a safe manner, with exclusions from staff and pedestrian/vehicle traffic · All documentation for the telehandler, including the pre-start/logbook records, maintenance/service records, operator's manual, the load chart(s) for the attachment(s) in use and a legible compliance/data plate · Suitable test loads or materials for the lift, carry and place demonstration · All PPE required for the task and site (e.g. high-visibility clothing, safety footwear, hard hat); the operator restraint/seatbelt must be fitted and functional

Upon successful completion the operator will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
