Safe Work Training

Height Safety Audits

Overview

Safe Work Training can provide fall hazard compliance audits in accordance with the regulations and Australian Standards. These can then be used to carry out risk assessments for safe systems of work at height. This may be on roofs, in confined spaces or anywhere in your workplace. We provide clear, independent reports outlining hazards, compliance gaps, and practical risk reduction actions. In addition to general advice and consulting, our services can include:

Fall Hazard Registers

  • Many workplaces have asbestos registers, confined space registers, etc. It's time for workplaces to have fall hazard registers.
  • Are you sure you know of all fall hazards in your business? Have you engaged an independent third-party auditor to review your Fall Hazard Register. We can assist by:
  • Identify all fall hazards across your workplace
  • Prepare Fall Hazard Register
  • Review current work methods, PPE, Rescue Plans, training and equipment compliance with relevant legislation and Australian Standards.

Fall Hazard Risk Assessments

  • In consultation with relevant staff, complete risk assessments for hazardous work at heights. We can assist in by:
  • Activity identification and review
  • Completing or reviewing risk assessments
  • Safe Work Method Statements SWMS
  • Safe Work Procedures
  • Equipment and access reviews

Fall Hazard Rescue Plans

  • The regulations require a written Fall Hazard Rescue Plan. We can develop a Rescue Plan for each activity to ensure there is adequate response capabilities. We can assist in by:
  • Prepare Fall rescue plans to ensure prompt response
  • Review of rescue equipment
  • Review of rescuer training

Roof Access Audits

  • The regulations require safe access to roofs for routine maintenance. We see many workplaces assume maintenance contractors have their own temporary roof access systems and do nothing to ensure that their contractors have safe systems of work on the roof.
  • We can review roof maintenance activities, that may include access to cooling towers, air conditioning and heating systems, and design safe access systems. We can assist in by:
  • Review routine roof work and maintenance
  • Assess access routes, edges, penetrations, and work areas
  • Support compliant and safe roof access solutions
